Rev. C. W. Mitton said
"It is very fitting that that service should be held in this chapel & some words in reference to Mr Hoyle should be spoken from this pulpit. Mr Hoyle was born in Lindley & his childhood, boyhood & young manhood were spent here. He early became a member of the church, was for years a diligent & devoted worker in connection with the school & church here & at Kent Hill, & also occupied the pulpits as a very acceptable local preacher. His life services are greatfully remembered by his old friends.
When he left Lindley he was unable to continue his work in S. School & as a local preacher but he carried the same spirit into his new sphere of service amongst the poor & weak he displayed the same conscientiousness, same faithfulness & same attention to duty that characterised his work in Lindley.
Death has closed his earthly career but neither death nor any other creature is able to separate him in our minds from an unspotted character, an unsullied name & a record of faithful & diligent service to God & humanity."
In conclusion Mr Mitton expressed the heartfelt sympathy of his church & congregation with those who had lost a husband, a father & a loyal trusted fellow-worker.
