The property was sold on his death in 1917 for 629:15:4d, David Wood believes purchaser called Bert Higton. Went to Wareham, Dorset with 2 or 3 sons, including John, to work in the war effort during WWI. Believed one or two sons stayed in that area, not returning to Glossop.
