Roberts, Samuel

As Samuel and Mary lived at Mouselowe after they married, presumably Mary was one of the Platt family who liived there. No baptism found though.
Samuel was one of the partners who built Bridge End fulling mill. As Hamnett says: This mill which many of my readers will remember, stood near to Victoria Bridge. It was always kept whitewashed. It was built for a fulling or milling mill. The lease was taken out on the 20th December, 1782, by Robert Fielding, fustian manufacturer, Whitfield; John Thornley, Hadfield; Samuel Roberts, clothier, Dinting; and Charles Calvert, Glossop. The area of the land was 42 square perches, situated in "Bottoms".
